Why do I see my investments level change when I receive the Diamond Pigs monthly invoice and when I pay?

Why do I see my investments level change when I receive the Diamond Pigs monthly invoice and when I pay?

The investment levels change because the Diamond Pigs fees are included in the performance calculation.

Let's start with an example:
  1. Your wallet has a value of $10,000 at the start of a month and has reached $11,000 at the end of the month.
  2. Initially you may think: my wallet increased by $1000 and the performance over that month is +10%
  3. However, you will receive an invoice for the Diamond Pigs service. Let's for the sake of simplicity set the invoice to $50.
  4. This means the net performance is $1000-$50 = $950 which means your performance is 9.5%
  5. You can pay the invoice from your own Diamond Pigs Binance wallet or from another wallet
This is how we technically handle the invoice:
  1. At the time of invoicing we increase your "investment amount" of your wallet with the invoice amount. Using the example above we say: The month start value is not $10,000, but $10,050
  2. This means the performance calculation now comes to $11,000-$10,050 = $950 --> which is 9.5%
This is how we handle the invoice payment:
  1. If you are paying from your own wallet, your wallet Balance will decrease ($11,000 becomes $10,950) AND your investment level will decrease (from $10,050 to $10,000) because you take out the $50 from your own wallet. The end result is a performance over the month of $950 --> which is 9.5%
  2. If you are paying from another wallet, your wallet Balance will not change (stays at $11,000) and the investment level will also stay the same (at $10,050). This is correct, because you are actually using the external wallet as an incremental investment into your Diamond Pigs wallet (you bring an external $50 into the game). The net performance stays 9.5%
The temporary change in investment is visible on your dashboard

The picture below shows an example dashboard of a user that received a $46 invoice at midnight on March 1st and paid the invoice at noon time. The blue line shows a temporary $46 increase between the moment the invoice was issued and the payment was received. (The green "Balance" line is disabled in this example, to ensure the small dip is actually visible). The red line shows the wallet performance percentage during this period.
